Hey guys,

I created this blog today, and linked it to my Youtube account. In the future, I may use this blog as a way to better keep in touch with you all. For now though, just wanted to say hello and hope that you have a great weekend.

Do you accept friend requests? No. However, you are most welcome to subscribe / leave comments / and or send PM's (if necessary).

What program are you using to film (in-game)? Fraps, although I have used others.

Why are only a few episodes being released each week? At this time, I am currently still in College plus working full time. Until more time frees up and subscriptions / views increase, I see no reason to release more than 2-3 episodes a week.

Will you be doing other LP's / series? Most definitely. Be sure to check back in a few months after I finish my Myst IV walkthrough / LP.

What steps do you go through, and how long does it take to record?

1) I first do a practice run (to refresh my memory)
2) I film in-game using a program called Fraps. The end result is a 10 minute uncompressed video, that is usually about 4 gigs in size.
3) I use a program called Virtualdub to compress it to a few hundred MB or less. Usually takes 7 minutes or longer.
4) I import the vid into Windows Movie maker (because it's free / easy to use), then I make any necessary edits and send it on its way to the WMV format. The end result is about 50 mb or less.
5)Finally, I upload to youtube. Copy over / edit tags, leave a description & title.

The total time from start to finish could easily be 40 min to an hour...and that's just for one 10 minute video. All in all, it can eat up a lot of time. However, in some ways its rewarding being able to help other players.

Most importantly, please remember I do this for fun and also to help other people...however at the same time, I have a life and obligations to my studies, work, and family. I can't promise anything as far as the speed it takes me to finish a walkthrough / let's play. At best, I can only speculate and afterall things can change.

Why the orange / yellow layout? Because it's easier on my eyes than some of the other default colored layouts. It's not too dark, nor is it too light.

How long have you been on Youtube? While this account only dates back to June 2008, I have had an account / been a member since early 2006 and have been visiting / watching videos for much longer than that. I created the EllipticalRealm account primarily to focus more on gaming related movies.

Where do you live? I live in the southeast / coastal area of the United States.
